Get a Life....Get a Love Life!!!
If you have bothered to watch any television in the last six months you are aware of the incredible popularity of "Reality TV." Each week you can watch the whirl wind romance of your favorite "Bachelor" or "Bachlorette," see decorators compete to be the next "Design Star," or sit in dismay as contestants try to exist with only the clothes on their back to outwit and outlast others to become the last sole "Survivor." Perhaps you are more of the game show person and enjoy seeing people suffer hits, spills and falls as they "Wipeout" their competitors. Reality television has captured the interest of so many but, it seems that those who do not enjoy it are often adamant regarding the unrealistic nature of such shows.
Recently, my husband and I were watching television together when an advertisement aired for a reality program. In this particular show individuals were paired for adventures with members of the opposite sex to see if they could find romance and "Love in the Wild." Being anti-reality show my husband said, "These people need to get a life!!" I laughed and said, " They are- they are trying to get a love life!!"
Maybe it is time we all 'get a life'- a love life!!! Scripture tells us, "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1John 3:1) His love was delivered to us in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ. As we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior then we become part of God's family and we begin our love life with His Son.
As little girls we read the wonderful fairy tales of the knight in shining armor pursuing the princess and riding in to save her from an evil foe and then living happily ever after. Those fairy tales are much more than fiction-in reality every one of us have such a desire. We long to be pursued, rescued and experience our happily ever after. The truth is Jesus Christ came down from heaven to pursue a love relationship with you and me, He died on the cross to save us, snatched the keys of death from the enemy, Satan. That was not the end however, He ascended into heaven and is preparing a place for the believer and one day it will culminate when believers, as the collective bride of Christ, we will sit down and partake of the amazing Wedding Supper of the Lamb. Our happily ever after will come as we spend eternity with the Jesus, the One and Only.
Do you have a love relationship with Jesus Christ? If not He wants desperately to have one with you. If you have never accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, now is the time!! If you have, He desires nothing more than to become your most treasured relationship-one in which you spend time with Him, learn more about Him, talk to Him and simply adore Him!!
Our reality needs to be a divine romance with the Prince of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords- Jesus Christ. You were created for that kind of relationship, an amazing love life with Him!!!
